Happy Birthday Papa!

It's a special day...it's papa's birthday! We will see Gigi and papa at the end of March, so we will celebrate then. We are lucky to have such a great papa (& dad) in our lives. Papa loves his grandchildren, all 6 of them. He plays, sings, snuggles, laughs, tickles, and reads stories to them all. He is always eager to see them and hear about the latest and greatest moments in their lives. Papa brings so much excitement and energy to our home when he visits. He is silly and fun. Papa also helps our family in many ways. We can count on him every step of the way. Papa is a computer guru, has turned shopping into an "extreme sport", he is full of knowledge and advise and is willing to share. And we are thankful to him. You can always expect a movie run, complete with popcorn when papa is around. We love that, and we love Papa. Happy Birthday, dad- hope it's a good one.

Dear LAUR: Well!! first off - - I want to know where you got those older heavier people whose bodies you 'photoshopped' my head and face upon?

Secondly, I am so thrilled that you would think of me and my birthday for a page on your blog! Glad you didn’t mention my actual age, I’m telling everyone that I’m 70 (good guess Avery!) Thank you so much, it’s quite an honor. But just like you, “I do not ever want to be on TV” wait a minute - - weren’t you on the 10 o’clock news in Salt Lake after the twins were born? Uhhh HUH! You DO like to be on TV. . . . . .

AVERY: Papa wants to have a few photos taken with you when I come over to visit. Like Gigi, we’ll need to think up some special poses, like me reading you a story, or you showing me how to build with Blocks like we do in Denver. Ha ha.

ELLIE: You are such a big lady now with your new haircut. I am excited to come over for a visit maybe I will get to see what presents you get for your NINTH Birthday party. Who all is invited?? Gigi tells me that it is going to be SPECIAL OCCASION with only a few selected guests to be invited. I’m looking forward to hearing all about it.

ZACHARY: Papa is so proud of you that you are doing better in school and have shown everyone that you are trying harder and really want to read. That is so important and I know that you will do well, YOU are a good boy my MAN! I am thinking about some sort of a NINTH birthday gift that I can give to you both (think outdoor sports)

JEFFREY: Be thinking about your film selections for the DOLLAR theatre. Maybe we should ask Bruce to join us? Does he know about the part where you have to repeat everything that is said for me?

LAUR: I’ve tried to keep this as short as possible, but I will tell you that I didn’t cry, although I may have had some tear duct problems so I just have to keep dabbing at them . . . . I also have a very special memory OF YOU as a little girl that I will share with you soon . . .and it DID make me cry.

LOVE, Dad

Hi Honey, You are so funny about Dad starting a blog....I think he should except we are too boring! Speaking of boring I know my comments are always boring but, I think your blogs are the best!! I loved your comments about Dad and I loved hearing about the Easter egg hunt that Zach had.... I'm glad to hear all the details because I was talking to Ellie and I was a little confused!! Love her haircut and I'm soooooo looking forward to my visit!! I can't wait to shop with you!!! Love you tons, Mom

Douglas,

To my favorite Father-in-Law: I hope this comment will replace a card and money for your birthday. I try and avoid the card isle and frankly just short on cash.

I was hoping you could take a couple of photos of me too. we can come up with some special poses, like you reading me a story too. I can hardly wait.

I do however, look forward to the dollar movie night. I always have and I always will. My favorite part also, as you mentioned, is when I get to translate each line to you and the rest of the theater.

Can't wait to have you here. I truely could not have asked for a better Father-in-Law. Happy 96th Birthday!

Love,

Jeff
