Worth every minute...

Of the 16 hour drive for 3 days at the cabin. We had a fantastic time during our family reunion in Utah. Jeff's parents have access to a cabin in the beautiful Gooseberry Canyon up the Manti LaSalle Mountain range. When Jeff was a little boy he camped at this cabin many times so, naturally it brought back many memories for him.

This weekend was the annual Anderson Family Reunion. This is a big celebration and tradition with Grandpa's side of the family. We celebrated with many Aunts, Uncles, cousins, and children: about 35 family members in all. What a fun way to get to know and reconnect with loved ones. Grandma and Grandpa certainly went the extra mile in preparations and planning for all to have a good time! Grandma was in charge of the food, and she sure put on a delicious spread. Grandma thinks of everything and always has an abundance of food. "Boy-oh-Boy" food is extra tasty when camping. Thanks Grandma for all the work that went into our many meals.

Grandpa was the "game master" since he was in charge of and planned all the games. He surely thought of every detail and made sure that everyone participated. Grandpa loves to "play" and we were all laughing & enjoying because of his efforts.

The kids had a ball. Jeff started our telling the kids "there are no rules at the cabin." Well, we ammendend that rule saying, the kids could roam free, run, and play but, must keep the cabin in view at all times. The cabin sits on 100 acres of land, a full mountain side-top to bottom.

The kids were living a dream. They could hike, eat treats, get dirty, & run wild all day long. Avery loved to find sticks. Ellie loved to hike and Zachary loved not having to brush his teeth! Ha. Actually, all three loved playing with Kaylee and the others most of all. It's fun for them to reconnect and build friendships together. And, as always it was a special treat to be with Grandma and Grandpa. Now, the kids share the same fond memories of the cabin that daddy had as a child. Good Golly, it was hard to leave...and worth every minute.
Stay tuned for the games and campfire photos...more to come.

Your pictures are georgous! I can't believe what a beautiful place that is. I love the picture of Ellie climbing the tree - we are getting excited for our mountain adventure next week - although i'm not sure it will be nearly that picturesque!
