Namely... a "going away" surprise party. Ellie has always secretly wished for a surprise party, so this was the perfect send off. Her good friend, car pool buddy and one of my favorite kiddos threw a bash for Ellie and friends to say "goodbye" To say she was excited would be understatment. She was ecstatic! She loved every mintute of it and thought about it for several days afterwards. The girls gathered at Godfathers first and we brought Ellie in a few minutes later. She was startled when the girls yelled "surprise" but quickly recovered when she realized it was a party.! And, how happy she was....that she didn't really have a dentist appointment at 6:30 on Friday night. I know it sounds like a lame cover on my part. But, she threw me off gaurd one afternoon and to protect the secret... dentist... was the first thing out of my mouth. Really, I need to work on my ability to "mislead"
Just for the record she was really surprised! Humm, Dentist, not so bad afterall.
The girls had the whole party room to themselves. They could be heard giggling, yelling, pulling pranks, planning their attempts to walk by the cute boys in the other room. Giggling some more and plenty of boy talk.
Just for record sake. When the girls yelled "surprise" Avery broke down in tears. Sheer old fashion jealousy! It's hard on a little 6 year old to watch your sister celebrate and to not feel included. At least it is for Avery. She was broken hearted for a short time but recovered with the chance to hang out with Katherine. Katherine came to her rescue. That's what the Lentsch's do...save the day.
The Lentsch family provided the girls with pizza, cake and the girls contributed to "going away" gifts.
She missed her friend, Kylie who was out of town. The girls were cute and always remembered Kylie when signing her cards and gifts. (Kylie later surprises Ellie with her all time fav photo gift, wink.wink)
